Join A.R.T. at The Brattle Theatre on Friday afternoons for three films featuring legendary tap dancers Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Gene Kelly, Gregory Hines, Sammy Davis Jr., and others.

The Friday Film Matinee is a new, ongoing program at The Brattle featuring special screenings of 35mm prints. Take an afternoon off to see and celebrate the magic of “reel” film.

Co-presented with The Brattle, which has been showing the best in classic, cutting edge, foreign, and arthouse films since 1953.

Showman Jerry Travers (Fred Astaire) demonstrates his new dance steps late one night to producer Horace Hardwick (Edward Everett Horton), much to the annoyance of the sleeping Dale Tremont (Ginger Rogers) below. She goes upstairs to complain and the two are immediately attracted to each other. Co-presented with Screen Boston.
