With a repertoire spanning contemporary, improvisational, and ancient traditions from around the world, the Silkroad Ensemble has been connecting the foreign and the familiar through a new musical language since early 2000. Silkroad’s ever-expanding collective of vibrant and virtuosic global artists brings audiences together with never-to-be repeated concert experiences that are riveting and hope-filled. This performance is inspired by Silkroad’s multi-year collaboration with students and teachers at Lame Deer Junior High on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation in Montana.
Founded by cellist Yo-Yo Ma (’76), Silkroad is celebrating 20 years of creating new music, sparking passion and curiosity in learners, and building programs that promote social impact. Silkroad has been affiliated with Harvard University since 2005, with offices on Harvard’s Allston campus since 2010.
This event is free and open to Harvard affiliates. Two tickets per ID are available in person only at A.R.T. Ticket Services at the Loeb Drama Center, Tuesday – Sunday, noon – 5PM.
