Diana Oh is a witch. She knows it. So do her closest friends. Clairvoyance runs in her family. She went to a spiritual counselor in the jungle in Thailand, and the spiritual counselor told her to sing and go wild in Boston. Everything else the spiritual counselor said came true, so Diana is doing it.
Diana Oh (she/they) closes out their year-long A.R.T. Artist-in-Community Residency with Clairvoyance, the culminating concert and gallery retrospective. In Clairvoyance, Oh performs original music from her journal entries and the beyond, and pays homage to the installations she created throughout Greater Boston to celebrate the power and magic of Queer and Trans People of Color. Clairvoyance—It’s a concert, it’s a museum, it’s a party, it’s a tree planting, with moments of divination. The evening will end with a dance party featuring music from by DJ Nessoono.
Clairvoyance, as a series of installations and concert, is created and creative directed by Oh with installations staged by Oh. The concert is love doctored by Oh and Mei Ann Teo and features special guests and Clairvoyance deities from the Boston arts scene.
Diana Oh is one of Refinery 29’s Top 14 LGBTQ Influencers, creator and co-director of Infinite Love Party at the Bushwick Starr and {my lingerie play}, and the first Queer Korean-American interviewed on Korean Broadcast Radio. Upworthy and The Wall Street Journal call her “Badass.” The New York Times calls her “Irreverent.” You can call her “Friend.”

I often think of the permission and invitation given to those to take center stage. I wanted to create the visibility of us inside an institution to reflect a culture of calling in, rather than calling out, to reflect a culture of celebrating and centering identities that I crave to be celebrated and centered for my own lifeline. Together, we stand in solidarity with one another. Each of these incredible artists who are here before you are artists I believe in whose magic, clarity, and power is vast and trailblazing the way for others to shine. We know by standing with one another in our truth and power that the impact is a certain type of ethereal sentience. My hope is that you feel it too and can hold this space in reverence with us.

But we have roots further down than you’ve ever known and we are grown. We are grown. Once the clearing passes. We are grown.

Installations
Clairvoyance is part of Diana Oh’s season-long residency at A.R.T. that centers around the celebration of QTPOC power and Queer magic and increases the visibility and acceptance of these traditionally marginalized groups. The residency will feature multiple installations and will culminate in a solo, spell-casting concert of the same name. QTPOC and their allies are invited to participate in all events.
