During the run of Macbeth In Stride, Dr. Ramie Targoff, Renaissance scholar and Professor of English at Brandeis University, returns to A.R.T. to discuss the characters of the Three Witches from Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Dr. Targoff previously joined Whitney White (Macbeth In Stride) and Stephen Greenblatt (Coogan University Professor of the Humanities at Harvard University) for A.R.T. Not Without Ambition, a conversation broadly centered on Shakespeare, theater in times of plague, and women in Shakespeare’s era. Dr. Targoff is a Co-Chair of Italian Studies at Brandeis University, where she has been teaching since 2001. Her latest project, Shakespeare’s Sisters, is a group biography of four women writers in Renaissance England.

A.R.T.’s Civically Speaking series, features virtual conversations, lectures, and performance events on history, politics, justice, and the meaning of democracy.
