The Conjurors’ Club FAQs

Since modern technology cannot accurately record the reality-bending illusions of the conjurors, The Conjurors’ Club is only performed live. The show will not be available to watch on demand or after your scheduled performance.

Although some members of The Conjurors Club are able to manipulate time, all current shows are performed in Eastern Time (ET). Please note that Daylight Saving Time begins on March 14 (not observed in Arizona, Hawaii, US Territories, and the Hopi Reservation) and European Summer Time begins on March 28.

The Conjurors’ Club contains numerous rooms, but the virtual experience will be the same in each. If you would like to be in the same room as another ticket holder, please share their name in the order notes during your ticket purchase.

During an American Sign Language (ASL)-interpreted performance, a trained professional will interpret the performance live in a separate video feed from the Conjurors.

During an audio described performance, a trained professional will insert descriptions of critical visual elements during the show. This function cannot be turned off.

ASL-interpretation and audio description will be provided in the Scarlet Room for specific performances.

While there is no limit on how many people in your household can watch the show with you, the Conjurors have found that having 4 or fewer people gathered around your computer allows them to calibrate their illusions to maximum effect.

If you expect to watch the show with more than 4 people in your household, please consider purchasing an additional Household Ticket to the show so that each group can watch on separate devices.

The Conjurors’ Club can be experienced from across the world and you are welcome to watch the show outside of the US. Unfortunately, secret packages cannot be shipped outside of the US.

The postal system can be even more mysterious than The Conjurors’ Club, so your secret package may not arrive before your performance if you buy your tickets within 5 days of it. However, the secret package is not required to enjoy The Conjurors’ Club and will still offer much to explore after the show is over. Additionally, a list of everyday items you can collect from around your home to utilize during the show is available upon request. Please email TicketServices@amrep.org to receive the list.

The Conjurors’ Club is currently welcoming visitors virtually on Zoom. You will receive instructions on how to access the Zoom in an email approximately two hours before your performance. Please add Emails@amrep.org and TicketServices@amrep.org to your contacts list to ensure you receive this email.

Please visit the Zoom website to download or verify you are using the most up-to-date Zoom software for your device. The Zoom client will offer the best experience of the show, though you can watch it on the Zoom website if you do not wish to download the software, however some features may not be available. The virtual lobby of The Conjurors’ Club will open 15 minutes before your scheduled performance and the show will start promptly. Late admittance will not be allowed 15 minutes after the start of the scheduled performance. If you are late or expect to arrive late, please contact TicketServices@amrep.org.

Visitors to The Conjurors’ Club are encouraged to dress their best, but also be comfortable so as not to miss a moment of the magic.

Not all of the Conjurors can read minds, so after you have joined the show on Zoom, they would greatly appreciate it if you would rename yourself so that your screen name is that of the ticket holder, followed by the first letter of your Room. This will ensure that all the Conjurors know who you are and get you to the correct Room.

Occasionally Zoom can be just as baffled by the Conjurors’ illusions as visitors are, so make sure to pin each Conjuror’s video when they enter your room. That way, you won’t miss a moment of the magic.

At the beginning of the performance, both the Conjurors’ and the interpreter’s videos will be pinned and visible to all visitors. Once visitors enter the Scarlet Room, they will have to pin both the Conjurors’ and interpreter’s video themselves. Visitors in the Scarlet Room who do not require this service can opt to only pin the Conjurors.

The audio describer has compiled pre-show descriptions that provide essential information that will not be available during the performance. It is recommend that all visitors using audio description listen to these recordings before the performance.

In addition to their secret package, visitors should bring a penny, a nickel, and a quarter with them to the show.

The Conjurors’ Club is best experienced on a laptop or desktop computer with an ethernet or strong wifi connection. If you do watch the show on a cellphone, please settle in for the duration of the performance so as not to distract the Conjurors while they are performing difficult magic.

Performing difficult magic requires intense concentration that can be broken by unexpected background noise. If you are watching the show alone, consider wearing headphones with a microphone to minimize background noise that could be distracting. If you are watching with others in your household, make sure to watch the show in a quiet area. And please silence your phone.

The Conjurors enjoy interacting with visitors to The Conjurors’ Club but may not be able to connect with everyone personally. However, there are interactive experiments during the show that all will be able to participate in.

Enabling your camera and microphone helps the Conjurors interact with you, but is not required to enjoy the show if you would like to experience it without being seen or heard.

The Conjurors’ Club is a secret society, so video recordings, audio recordings, photographs, and screenshots are not allowed.
