BIOGRAPHY
Dov Michael Schiller
Dov Michael Schiller is a professional freelance drummer, percussionist and timpanist. He attended the New England Conservatory of Music where he studied with a number of Boston Symphony Orchestra members as well as working with many fine jazz, rock, Third Stream and Klezmer luminaries.
After touring in Europe for ten years with various Broadway musical theater tours, Dov is now keeping busy with an incredible array of musical projects throughout New England, New York City and beyond. His freelance career includes positions as Principal Timpanist with the Handel Society Orchestra, Great Waters Music Festival Orchestra and Clearlakes Chorale. He remains an active member of the Vermont Mozart Festival Orchestra and the Rhode Island Philharmonic. He is the Artistic Director and founding member of the Mt. Elmore Music and Arts Center and enjoys playing with COSA BUENA, a four-piece jazz/latin/world ensemble (www.cosabuenavt.com). Dov is also a member of the fantasy rock band Moss Circle. In addition to his wide array of performances, Dov maintains a busy schedule with various recording engagements in both New York City and California. While based at home in the Green Mountains of Vermont, Dov maintains a very busy teaching and freelancing schedule as well as presenting frequent workshops and clinics throughout the region
